Hamish Hamilton, London 1946. One of the best novels of the twentieth century and Albert Camus’s first book. The book is very good or better with a slightly sunned spine but with no owner’s signatures, bookplates or other markings of any kind, very clean internally. The dust jacket artwork is second to none on this book. The dust jacket is not price clipped and has a striking front panel. The spine of the dust jacket is toned with a couple of chips, mainly to the top of the spine. A light stain to the back panel as shown. Overall, a very good first edition of this existential masterpiece.
