George Routledge & Sons, Limited, London, 1906. Original red suede stamped in gilt and gilt edges to the pages. Illustrated by Gilbert James translated by Anna Swandick in very good condition. This ornate cover highlights the hell negotiated for by Faust giving the feel of the gothic to the book production. All illustrations are in very good or better condition still protected by their tissue fore papers. Hinges cracked a bit but holding tight foxing to front free endpaper else clean internally except for a minor pencil notation in German on the front pastedown.
