Horace Liveright, New York, 1920. An extremely rare dust jacket of this seminal work by Sigmund Freud. We locate only one other copy on the internet of this book in dust jacket. It is the first printing for $8,800 from a reputable book dealer but the dust jacket is not nearly as good as this one. There is not a copy we are aware of that has its dust jacket in this condition. Minor edge wear to this dust jacket which is price clipped otherwise very good to near fine. The book itself has a small owner’s gift inscription on the front pastedown. The book comes housed in a dust free custom clamshell case to protect the book and dust jacket forever. This book is very rare and completely unknown (to our knowledge) in this type of condition. A lot of Freud’s books were burned in the German book burnings during the 1930s of course they were in German. In any event, a very rare edition of this Freud masterpiece. No accounting for its scarcity.
